We’ve been in Brooklyn for exactly two weeks and it’s still all pretty surreal. Most days I feel like a tourist staying in a hotel—we’re enjoying the neighborhood, the restaurants, and the sights, but it doesn’t really feel like home yet. Lucky for me, we have friends who live 5 blocks away, who we see quite often. It’s really been a life line for me….I don’t really want to think about how much harder this would be if we didn’t have friends nearby to help ease the transitions and tell us where all the good stuff is. Chris has been riding his bike to work and we’ve all been enjoying daily family breakfasts (something we never did in NJ) and family dinners most nights. Natalie and Miranda are adjusting beautifully…..Natalie LOVES the park that is two blocks from our house and Miranda enjoys walking around the neighborhood looking at all the people.
We are still unpacking—I’d say we’re about 80% done, but the last 20% is going to be a lot slower than the first 80%. Once things are a little more organized, I’ll post some pics of the apartment. I haven’t used our “real” camera much since the move, so until I get more organized, I’ll post these photos I’ve taken with my phone. And look for more posts about all of our “last hurrahs” in NJ….with all the packing, moving, and unpacking, the blog has once again taken a backseat. It may take a while, but I’ll catch up, I promise!

And almost ready to move out! Sorry for the lack of posts—we’ve been busy, busy, busy with packing and small home repairs. A week from today, we will be driving a moving van across the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn. It’s exciting, sad, scary, and wonderful all at once.
My dear friend and photographer extraordinaire Jenn generously offered to take some family photos of us in front of our house before we leave. You can see for yourself how beautiful they turned out. At least someone is blogging about the WJs!
