Old Friends/New Friends

We had a nice visit a few weeks ago with our old friends Chloe and Nathan (as in we drove together to our high school prom!) and were delighted that Natalie made fast friends with their daughters Greta and Marla. Natalie actually seemed to bond with Greta first, even though Marla is the same age as her, whereas Greta is 2.5 years her senior. We think Natalie likes playing with Melissa’s 7-year-old daughter so much that she is intrigued by older girls. We took them to visit Howell Living History Farm, where we saw new spring lambs, piglets, and chicks and Natalie made a beeswax medallion to hang in the window.
Old friends Old friends Miranda slept in the mei tai the whole time we were at the farm.

Chloe and Nathan observed that Natalie served as a buffer between their two daughters, who bickered less than when they play together just the two of them. Us grown-ups were thrilled to have the older girls occupied well enough to have adult conversation! It was so nice to spend time with them that we’re sad that they live all the way in Virginia and hope to see them more often!
