Natalie’s First Snowman!
We’ve been getting a lot of snow this winter! Not quite as much as the Washington DC area, but much more than we’ve gotten in recent years. After the last snow storm in December, I finally bought Natalie a snowsuit and snow boots (the last pair that Kohl’s had in stock—they just happened to be cute and Natalie’s size!). So today she was totally prepared to play in the 10 or so inches we got this weekend.
Saturday she was still too sick with a cold to go out, so she and Chris built a cardboard car that she played with most of the day:
And today Natalie and Chris took on the fun challenge of building a snowman:

A cute story about a little girl who can’t wait for the snow to come.
The Mitten by Jan Brett
Ukrainian folk tale about animals who find refuge from the snow in a boy’s mitten. Adorable!
The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats
The classic.
The Unbeatable Bread by Lyn Littlefield Hoopes
Rhyming story about Uncle John, who bakes bread that smells so delicious that it awakens the whole neighborhood from their winter slumber. Auntie Jodi found this one (probably at Good Will!).
It was the perfect book to read yesterday after Natalie and Chris made their own whole wheat bread:
All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend what may be our last weekend as a family of three!
