Barney Cures All
Our conversation last night at the dining room table over dinner….
Natalie: Mommy, where’s you food?
Me: Mommy’s not feeling well, so I don’t feel like eating.
Natalie, looking concerned: Oh, you don’t feel well?
Me: No, I don’t feel well.
Natalie thinks for a second, then a giant glowing lightbulb appears over her head.
Natalie, smiling: Do you want to watch a Barney?
Oh, to be 2 years old when Barney makes everything better…
Creative Lyricist
Kumbaya was one of the first songs that Natalie requested we sing by name. I’m not exactly at what age she started asking for it, but I know it took us forever to figure out what “Doo-BYE-ahh” meant. More and more she’s been making up her own creative lyrics to familiar songs. We caught this gem on tape:
