Natalie has been more and more interested in letters and words. She will often read the letters of words she sees (in books, on signs, etc) and ask what word the letters spell. She also likes to type words on the computer. She can spell Natalie, Mommy, and Daddy pretty much on her own, and if we exaggerate each sound the letters make, she can usually pick the correct letters to spell any word. She gets a little mixed up with C/K and C/S because C makes both of those sounds. The short vowel sounds are the most confusing, which is why on this video, you’ll notice that I’m pronouncing the long vowel sounds to help her pick the right letter.

Chris and I are such bad spellers that sooner than we think, Natalie will start asking to spell words that are beyond our capabilities!
