Talkin ’bout Poop

After a (probably much too early) success pooping on the potty, Natalie has been kinda freaked out by sitting on the potty. I thought this conversation we had tonight might have shed some light on why she seems to be scared. But I’m really just overanalyzing. Or am I? You decide….

Natalie: I want to eat my grilled cheese right NOW!!

Me: You’re hungry, huh?

Natalie: Yes, I’m hungry!!

Me: Well, I don’t want you to burn your mouth, so you’ll just have to tell your belly to wait until the grilled cheese cools off.

When I gave her the plate of grilled cheese, she leaned forward and pressed her belly against her plate, as if she was trying to get the food directly in there.

Me: Your food goes into your belly after you chew it in your mouth.

Natalie: Oh?

Me: Yeah, you chew your food, it goes in your belly, and then you poop.

Natalie: And then we will be sad.

Me: Sad? Why will you be sad?

Natalie: Because we lost our food!

That’s a mean mean couple of posts to make public. SO much worse normal baby pictures.

Mean? She’s learning about digestion. Everyone poops, you know!
