Last weekend we had a great trip visiting Bethany and Mike in Maryland. Natalie has gotten much easier to travel with! On the way there, she sang songs for about an hour before taking a two-hour nap. When she woke up, she occupied herself for the rest of the car-ride with the new travel magna-doodle we got her.
On Saturday, while Bethany and I were at her baby shower, Chris and Mike took Natalie to the park:

Then we drove into Washington DC to take Natalie to a couple of monuments. We drove past the capital building, and Natalie pronounced “rotunda” perfectly on the first try. “House of Representatives” got a little muddled, but she was able to say “filibuster” correctly!
At the Jefferson Memorial, Natalie enjoyed climbing up the stairs and then hopping all the way down.

The most exciting thing about the FDR Memorial was climbing on and then jumping off the granite benches.
