Can you believe how time flies? 8 weeks has past since I was born!
Mom & Dad say: Natalie is a joy and every time we look at her sweet face we feel lucky, proud, and happy. It’s amazing how big she’s gotten—she’s smiling a lot and vocalizing and cooing. With the exception of when she sleeps, Natalie seems to wiggle all the time—a friend at Amy’s work said Natalie was “quite a mosh-pitter,” and Uncle David has called her “bonk” from day one because of the way she would bob her head when being burped. When Nama (formerly known as “Grandma Martha”) holds her, she often asks Natalie where she’s going. Chris has gone from calling her “sweet pea” to “chick pea” on account of her cute chubby face and hair the color of chick peas. Natalie thinks it’s quite funny and laughs when Chris holds her and says “garbanzoooooooooh!” Amy recently discovered that Natalie likes to be read to, especially short books with lots of rhyming words. Thanks to all who’ve been so supportive and loving to all three of us as we’ve adjusted to family life and life as parents.
Great new pictures of Natalie (chick pea)! She’s more adorable with each picture we see! When are we going to see her again??? How about you guys bringing Natalie up to visit her great, Great Pop Pop and Grandma soon and getting a free tour of our wee Condo in Basking Ridge? I know the weather has been utterly raw and foreboding for a 7 week-old little lady. With the first tweet of a Robin, we’d love to have you here for lunch and a chance to hold your darling baby. And, I promise to tune up my voice and sing a medly of old baby favorites to her.
I’m sorry, but Pop Pop can’t drive anymore, and at 77, I would be fearful of trying to drive the trip myself. Maybe Susan would drive us down to see Amy and Natalie on one of her Natalie-sitting days??? We could meet her at her apartment.
Thanks for the picture of David Michael Clune (Natalie’s cousin once removed!).
We haven’t gotten to see him yet but have frequent talks with Margaret to see how he’s doing. Peter or Nancy might drive us there in another week. We’re so delighted to have a new Grandson and Great Granddaughter within two months. I can just picture them together in another few months, when they first recognize each other, play with toys together, etc. It will be so much fun for all of us to watch and enjoy every minute! They will be growing up as best friends some day!
By the way, I forgot to pass the word to everyone that I reserved the Spring Ridge Lounge Room at the Club House for an 80th Birthday Party for Pop Pop on Saturday, June 23rd. (1:00 to 5:00 pm). I was thinking that in addition to the luncheon, Chris would be willing to do a “This is Your Life, Bill Elliott” with a video presentation/or slides/ from lots of great old pictures. People can also add anecdotes of fun or funny experiences with Pop Pop from his lifetime of joking/teasing/playing games with all our kids and grandkids. Let us know if you’re up to it, Chris!!!
Love and kisses, Grandma
We miss you guys so much
